Many reviews on this product seem to revolve around the users intended use. I like these gloves because the size seems correct. I wear XL in any other glove and these fit the same. The palm and fingers look to have some leather-like reinforcement layer. The back of the hand area is a mesh of sorts for breathing. I wouldn't expect these gloves to keep your hands warm in the winter. That's not what they were designed for. The do grip tools and parts well. I use them for handling auto parts and sheet metal. I even left them on to weld with. I don't use them for gardening although I would wear them if I was using a chain saw or other yard equipment. When these wear out, I'll order again.
